Job description

Production Operator – 1st Shift
A precision manufacturer is seeking a detail-driven Production Operator to join its cleanroom production team. In this hands-on role, you'll prepare and manage etching chemicals, inspect and touch up intricate substrates under a microscope, and run both manual and automated wet etching processes to exacting standards. 
Pay Rate of the Production Operator:
$21.00 per hour.
Schedule of the Production Operator:
1st shift on a 9/80 schedule.
  • Week 1: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Week 2: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM (flexible start times).
Responsibilities of the Etching Operator:
  • Verify etching equipment is in proper working condition before use.
  • Make up all etching chemicals per routings and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform chemical change-overs using proper PPE.
  • Inspect substrates for proper photoresist quality prior to etching.
  • Touch up intricate images, holes, and slots using a hand/foot dispenser and microscope.
  • Wet etch substrates using both manual and automated methods.
  • Verify critical dimensions (CDs) on substrates as required using the Nikon microscope system.
  • Tape test or otherwise inspect etched substrates to ensure quality etching.
  • Strip photoresist from substrates and inspect 100% for complete cleanliness.
  • Operate the Dektak metal thickness measurement system.
Qualifications of the Etching Operator:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 and industry specifications such as MIL Standard and/or IPC.
  • Previous experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret dimensional drawings.
  • Ability to handle small and fragile substrates.
  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good visual acuity (lens correction as required) and the ability to perform inspections under a microscope.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal ownership and a team attitude.
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident in accordance with ITAR policy.
