We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with new product development and robotics experience. 
JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide technical project leadership in the development of the electrical systems of consumer, robotic, and medical devices.
  • Exercise your engineering prowess to take initial design concepts from rough idea to complete, fully-working manufactured product.
  • Follow up the development of robust, testable product requirements with design of system architecture and selection of appropriate components.
  • Design the circuit schematic and BOM, and complete or facilitate PCB layout.
  • Perform board bring-up and integration testing in collaboration with mechanical and firmware/software
  • Write test procedures and assist in formal verification of design function.
  • Manage bills of material and redesign for parts obsolescence or constrained supply chain.
  • Apply design principles to prevent electromagnetic interference and assist with certification to EMC standards.
  • Document every step of the design clearly and help to continuously improve engineering best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year university.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • **Proficiency with Altium design tools** for schematic review, PCB modifications, and layout adjustments
  • **Demonstrated expertise in PCBA board-level troubleshooting and debug** with systematic root cause analysis skills
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to lead projects and prioritize work to drive toward project completion.
  • Ability to work independently and foresee potential issues by taking a systems view.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills combined with attention to detail.
  • Excellence in clear communications and detailed documentation.
  • A positive attitude and focus on client success.
  • Ethical and honest in every part of the job.
  • Work effectively in a team setting and collaborate openly with other engineers
  • Proficiency in both analog and digital design.
  • Experience developing microprocessor, FPGA or DSP-based systems.
  • Experience with power management systems, switching power supplies, and battery powered devices.
  • Experience with wireless communications components and standards.
  • Experience with sensor selection and interface design.
  • Experience in bringing products from concept to production.
  • Hands on lab experience with troubleshooting and debugging.
Other Experience a Plus
  • Hardware development for medical devices (including regulatory requirements) and experience working in a medical quality system
  • FPGA design
  • Power electronics design
  • Antenna modeling and design
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket)
  • High speed digital design (e.g. PCI Express, memory bus design, Gigabit Ethernet, USB)
  • Knowledge of motor drive and control
  • Python programming for test automation or data analysis
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Base salary range: $140K - $170K
