Position: Electrical Engineer/Analog/Digital Circuit Design

Clearance Requirements: A U.S. Security Clearance of Secret or higher may be required for this position. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

This position will report directly to the Director of Electrical & Software Engineering and will also work directly with the CTO/DTO and other Department Teams. It is expected that this professional will collaborate with Acoustic Engineering and Production Engineering as well as with Production Teams to create new and modified products that can be mass-produced.

We are seeking an experienced high functioning Electrical Engineer skilled in analog /digital circuit design and product documentation. In this position, you will develop sonar and industrial ultrasonic products. You will be part of a small, fast-paced, hands-on engineering team developing products used in a broad variety of uses. In our small company environment, your expertise, innovation, and contributions will count.

We are at an exciting threshold in engineering, expanding product capabilities in measurement and communications, and expanding the team to make it happen.

RESPONSIBILITIES shall include but not be limited to:

· As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for project hardware and circuit design from concept through production. This includes full life cycle development of new products ­­as well as incremental updates to legacy products.

· Your hardware designs will include microprocessor and mixed-signal circuits, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, analysis, and documentation.

· Responsibilities will also include planning design validation test and production test plans.

· You will work with electrical, acoustic, software, and manufacturing engineers to produce innovative solutions to very broad and ever-changing customer challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or related fields

· 3+ years of experience with excellent working knowledge of microprocessor-based, mixed signal circuit design under cost, and resource constraints

· Well-versed in state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies, components, and vendors

· Proven ability to self-manage, tenacious problem-solver, and multitask on more than one project at a time

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, communicate technical information both inside and outside the company

· Passion for advancing the state-of-the-art applied to industrial electronics products and manufacturing processes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· 3+ years’ experience developing product architecture, embedded mixed signal circuitry, schematic capture, circuit analysis, and PCB layout.

· Low-level analog, filter, signal processing, and microcontroller / FPGA circuit design for battery-powered devices

· Power amplifier/transducer drive circuits, boost converters for radio power

· Electro mechanical experience defining housings for multiple boards, internal wiring, and remote sensors

· Experience with prototyping, board bring-up, debugging, design validation, production test, and manufacturing support

· Document product and circuit specifications. Initiate new parts drawings, product drawing package, production process sheets, and QC test plans

· Capability in estimating product cost, development time, and support needs

Desired Pluses

· Familiar with Sonar and Acoustics

· Familiar with product certifications of CE, UL, Intrinsic safety, FCC

· Working knowledge and ability in C/C++ and development tools

· Experience with FPGA design, VHDL code, simulation, tools
