The job will provide experience in standard biology and chemistry wet-lab techniques, including work with microfluidics. As a lab technician, you will work alongside smart and motivated scientists and research associates. You will be responsible for conducting daily laboratory tasks and preparing consumables for the assay development team. Your main duty will be processing microfluidic chips (similar to microscope slides), following detailed protocols and preparing reagents to be used by the rest of the team.

Required:

  • Associates degree (AA), certificate program, comparable training, or higher.
  • Experience in (or motivation to learn) hands-on wet lab techniques for manufacturing, bio-assays, biochemistry, and microfluidics.
  • Detail-oriented and able to execute tasks requiring attention.
  • Able to follow complex protocols.
  • Good understanding of “The Scientific Method” and “Controlled Experiment” concepts.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations related to preparation of solutions
  • Observant to safety protocols and procedures, and the ability to work with sensitive materials (safety training will be provided).
  • Willing to learn and operate prototype-level liquid handling automation systems.
  • Willing to work in a BSL2 lab setting.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Good work ethic, reliable, punctual, takes ownership and can work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Able to work some off-hour shifts (weekends and evening shift availability).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with pipetting
  • Experience with biochemistry lab protocols
  • Experience with utilizing chemical reagents and making solutions (e.g. buffers, detergents, etc.)
  • Analytical skills (Data analysis in Excel)
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience maintaining a laboratory notebook
  • Enrollment in (or completion of) a bioscience or chemistry related degree or certificate program

Correlia Biosystems is a dynamic startup company; potential applicants should have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
