Job description

The Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead automated light-directed DNA synthesis platform for use in biomedical research and drug discovery.

The Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead automated light-directed DNA synthesis platform for use in biomedical research and drug discovery.
The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical, biomedical, or electrical engineering, with experience in optics/photolithography and microfluidics. The application of the platform will involve oligonucleotide synthesis for various functions. Useful previous experience may include but not limited to microarray technology, microfluidics, optics/microscopy, microfabrication, ink jet technology, and surface/materials science.
Additional projects may include high-throughput screening and printing microarray technology using legacy instruments such as the Quanterix Microarrayers and light directed synthesizers.

Minimum Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required.

Minimum Experience:
  • Ten (10) years relevant work experience is required with Bachelor's degree.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience is required with a Master's degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience is required with a PhD.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Senior Scientist in Chemical Biology and Therapeutics.
