Position Summary
T32 Postdoctoral Fellow position. This is a one-year, time limited position with the possibility to extend to 2 years. This is a computational position that offers a collaborative opportunity between basic science (computational genome science) and clinic (allergy and immunology).
The successful applicant will be supported by the UNC T32 Allergy and Immunology Training Program with the goal of providing research training to individuals to broaden their scientific background and extend their potential for research in allergy and immunology. It is important to note that this position is contingent on T32 funding.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in the analysis of multi-omics data, especially microbiome data. The person in this position will work under supervision of the PI, the co-PI and within the Allergy and Immunology team, with other students and postdocs in the lab, on the development of novel computational methods and data pipelines. Able to present complex results, both verbally and in writing to bioinformatics and non-bioinformatics audiences of all levels. Comfortable working and handling several concurrent projects. Knowledge of Python or R is preferred. Ability to analyze multi-omic data, including microbiome data, would be an advantage. Ability to build algorithms and data pipelines would be ideal.
