Founded in 1994, MCS specializes in designing and manufacturing microprocessor-based controllers for the HVAC/R industry. Their products are used globally by OEMs and independent contractors.

Micro Control Systems (MCS) offers a comprehensive range of products and services tailored for the HVAC/R industry. These include microprocessor-based controllers designed for harsh environments, industrial control panels, and a wide array of peripheral devices such as temperature, pressure, humidity, and current sensors. Additionally, MCS provides support software compatible with Windows-based PCs, enabling users to monitor and interact with controllers remotely. The company also serves as the North American distributor for Hanbell compressors, which include hermetic and open drive screw compressors, as well as standard and magnetic (oil-free) centrifugal compressors.


Position Summary

Micro Control Systems designs and manufactures microprocessor-based controllers for the hostile environment of the HVAC/R industry. Our product line also includes refrigeration compressors, temperature, pressure, humidity and current sensors, as well as custom support software. We operate in a dynamic, fast-paced and customer-focused environment where responsiveness and technical sales support is critical to success of the company. 

The Embedded Engineer works as part of the Engineering team to assist in the development of new products, maintain existing software, and diagnose problems as they arise. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement new products and tools. 
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a timely manner.
  • Research new technologies and assist in the planning and implementation for new projects.
  • Test new products to industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Adhere to company work schedule, dress code and safety awareness.
  • Set priorities, anticipate problems and determine realistic completion dates.


Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 
  • Experience in embedded software development. (Zilog, Raspberry Pi, and Microchip PIC processors)
  • Familiar with git version control.
  • Ability to read electronic schematics.
  • Eager to take on new challenges and eliminate any obstacles.
  • Knowledge in cloud technologies.
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • HVAC knowledge.
  • Programming languages: C, Java, Visual Basic, LabVIEW, PHP, Typescript.
  • Frameworks: Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap.
  • Databases: SQL, MongoDB.
  • Other Tools/Skills: OrCAD (PCB Design knowledge), AutoCAD, Git, BACnet, Modbus, Linux kernel/u-boot development, scripting.
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems.
