• Job Title: Orthopedic Surgeon (Hand)
• Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time
• Location: Hobart & Valparaiso, IN (Chicagoland Area)
• Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, with shared call responsibilities (1:6 rotation)
• On-Call Expectations: 1:6 rotation
• Start Date: Negotiable (credentialing typically 90–120 days)

PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
• Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics
• Average Daily Volume / Census: Diverse hand and upper extremity surgical caseload
• Admissions & Rounding: Included
• Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes
• Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Hand surgery and general orthopedic cases

FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
• Beds in Department/Unit: Orthopedics Unit within a 458-bed hospital system
• EMR System: Epic – fully integrated HIMSS Stage VII
• Specialty Backup: Comprehensive physician network with subspecialty surgical support
• Support Staff: Nurse practitioner support in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports within Community Healthcare System physician group

• Deliver comprehensive hand and general orthopedic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Provide consultations, admissions, and follow-up care for hand and orthopedic patients
• Collaborate with nurse practitioners, specialists, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives across the health system
• Contribute to practice development and support system growth
