Staff Assistant, Dolphins Cancer Challenge Development
Department: Community Affairs
Direct Supervisor: Manager, DCC Development
Status: Part-time
Summary:
The Staff Assistant, DCC Development position supports the Dolphins Cancer Challenge development team. Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC), is the Miami Dolphins' year-found fundraising initiative supporting those impacted by cancer by funding innovative research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and has grown into the largest fundraising event in the NFL. This role assists the development team with communications, content, donation processing, and data support to grow participation, engagement and fundraising.
Location:
  • This is a part-time/hourly position. Position will be needed both on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL, and at supporting events throughout South Florida.
Responsibilities:
Administrative and Operations
  • Gift Processing - facilitates the processing of donations, including recording and acknowledging donations.
  • Email and Telephone Support - responds to participant and donor inquiries via email and phone within 48 hours, delivering thoughtful, accurate and high-quality customer service.
  • Organizational Support - provides support to staff in various areas and tasks including but not limited to mailing items, project management assistance, team kickoff support, event registrations, gameday gifting, etc.
Systems and Data Support
  • CRM - maintains clean, accurate and up-to-date participant and donor records in DonorDrive and HubSpot.
  • Data Management - assists with data entry, tracking and reporting to support fundraising and registration.
Communications Support
  • Email Messaging Support - assists with drafting, proofreading and scheduling email communications in support of DCC initiatives, campaigns and participant engagement.
  • Message Alignment - ensures email, social media and web content are aligned with key campaigns and organizational priorities to deliver a consistent voice across channels.
  • Social Media Execution and Support - supports staff managing DCC social platforms through copy drafting, calendar management, photo selection, design support and execution of scheduled content.
Qualifications:
  • Strong writing and grammar skills required.
  • Experience in peer-to-peer fundraising preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn.
  • Is team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Passion for mission-driven work and community impact.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
