Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Job Post Summary

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Job Description:

Position Summary:
Red River Youth Academy is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Mental Health Technicians (MHTs). This role is essential in providing supervision, security, and support to adolescents in our care. No prior experience is necessary: training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and ensure the safety and security of clients
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Serve as a consistent and positive role model for youth

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass an extensive background check and drug test
• No felonies, misdemeanors, or VPOs on record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services preferred
• One year of experience working with psychiatric or emotionally disturbed youth preferred
• CNA, personal care attendant, or rehab services experience may substitute for direct experience

Certifications:

• Must obtain CPR and HWC certification

Skills and Competencies:

• High initiative and ability to work independently
• Strong confidentiality and customer service skills
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and remain calm in crisis situations
• Physical ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
• Ability to observe patients and complete documentation accurately

Access to and responsibility for maintaining confidentiality of medical records for assigned patients.
