What is an MFM position?

MFM positions refer to job roles in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, a subspecialty within obstetrics that focuses on the health of mothers and their unborn babies, especially in high-risk pregnancies. Professionals in these positions are typically board-certified obstetricians who have completed additional training in maternal-fetal medicine. They work in hospitals, clinics, or academic settings and provide specialized care, perform advanced prenatal diagnostics, and manage complex pregnancies. MFM specialists collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the best outcomes for both mother and baby.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist, you need board certification in obstetrics and gynecology with subspecialty training in MFM, along with expertise in high-risk pregnancy management and fetal assessment.
