Location: On-site in Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 (Relocation Assistance Offered)

About Us: YouTube: Dayton-Granger Inc

Our Products: Products | Dayton-Granger

Position Overview:

Dayton-Granger, Inc. (DG) is a third-generation, family-owned aerospace manufacturer that has specialized in antennas, lightning protection systems, and electrostatic components for commercial and military aircraft worldwide for almost 83 years. What makes DG unique is that engineering, testing, and manufacturing all happen under one roof, giving our teams direct visibility, fast collaboration, and real influence on the products we build.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in developing, improving, and supporting our production processes on flight-critical products. This is not a desk-only role - you'll be on the floor working closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to troubleshoot issues, refine workflows, create clear work instructions, and drive continuous improvement. If you enjoy solving problems, improving how work gets done, and seeing your ideas implemented quickly, this role offers real ownership and visibility in a collaborative, integrated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Design and create new process flow and work instructions with the correct process lead times, capacity analysis, and resources (machines and labor).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of advanced production processes and tooling methodologies.
  • Develop and execute engineering evaluation plans for experimental or analysis of new materials, new processes or new improvements.
  • Resolve technical process problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
  • Review, analyze and coordinate the implementation of methods and procedures to control and improve manufacturing processes. Assist in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
  • Implement and maintain process FMEA (Failure mode and effect analysis) on all DG core processes in the effort to mitigate the risk of process failures and their severity.
  • Maintain DG manufacturing best practice database and workmanship standard.
  • Interpret company policies and maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by management
  • Follows all DG safety procedures as per company policies and per the Facility Engineer/Safety Director

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a production environment (not just exposure - must have owned/manipulated processes)
  • Hands-on experience developing or improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, or tooling
  • Practical experience supporting assembly or production floor activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements
  • Working knowledge of one or more manufacturing methods such as machining, composites, forming, joining, or assembly (does not need to be all)
  • Strong analytical skills able to collect data, identify root causes, and develop solutions
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills able to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • English fluency (written & verbal)

Preferred:

  • Experience with FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs
  • Experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated high-reliability manufacturing environment

Benefits:

  • Relocation Assistance
  • Affordable comprehensive insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision).
  • 401(k) match with immediate vesting.
  • Complimentary Life Insurance Coverage with Option for Supplemental Coverage.
  • PTO and Paid Holidays.
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability.
  • Tuition Reimbursement.
  • Mental Health Benefits.
  • Complimentary basic life insurance
  • Paid Parental Leave.
  • Excellent work-life balance.
  • Dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and resources.
  • Length of Service/Milestone Anniversary Gifts.
  • Team Building Activities.

Why You'll Love Working Here:
We are a multigenerational team with members representing a diversity of cultures, educational backgrounds, experience levels, and ideas all 'making it happen' from one location in beautiful, coastal South Florida. We are a well-established supplier providing cutting edge products in support of long-term aerospace programs, while at the same time developing new products to meet the needs of new customers, programs, and up-and-coming markets.
Additionally, DG loves its employees! The average employee tenure is around 8 years. Length of service milestones are celebrated company-wide, and employees may make selections of anniversary gifts.
