The University of Miami, Department of Writing Studies, seeks applicants for part-time lecturer positions to teach one or two sections of Writing. Duties include teaching one or two sections of Writing Studies. Classes may include Writing Center tutoring and First-year Writing courses. In addition, duties require a minimum of one hour per week of office hours per course to meet with students.
Minimum qualifications include 1 year of college teaching experience and an MA or MFA in English (or relevant field) to teach First-year Writing or tutor in the Writing Center. PhD preferred. Applications will be reviewed as received and this pool will remain open through the academic year. An essential function and requirement of this position is in-person, face-to-face teaching for all classes. An appointment/offer is contingent upon student demand (enrollments) and available funding with the possibility that final confirmation will not be available until classes begin.
