Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for compliance with all state and federal DOT laws and regulations as well as company policies. They will coordinate the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents, the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company's CDL training program, and the oversight of the company's commercial vehicle inspection process. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy.
What You'll Do
  • Effectively evaluate, monitor, analyze, and identify all DOT regulatory compliance issues and provide recommendations
  • Stay abreast of changing regulatory requirements and make recommendations for compliance
  • Provide regulatory determinations related to DOT requirements (e.g., FMSCA, PHMSA, and FRA)
  • Ensure and/or conduct required inspections of DOT-regulated vehicles and equipment
  • Develop, implement, and conduct necessary training (e.g., ELDT, ELD, DVIR, maintenance)
  • Submit information to the regulatory agencies to maintain compliance (MCS 150, DataQ, incident reports etc.)
  • Assist locations with questions regarding compliance with DOT requirements
  • Manage DOT staff, provide direction/guidance in associated areas, assign tasks and develop performance plans
  • Assist in the development and administration of Departments budget
  • Develop programs/processes to maintain compliance
  • Represent the Company during regulatory audit

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years' experience related to DOT requirements; or High School graduate with a minimum of 10 years' experience related to DOT requirements
  • Class A CDL with Hazardous Material endorsement preferred
