Director of Engineering POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Engineering will lead and oversee all engineering functions within the SUV division, ensuring the design, development, and implementation of innovative systems and solutions. This role is responsible for leading a team of project managers, driving technical excellence, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the company's growth through strategic engineering initiatives.

Director of Engineering ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Director of Engineering Leadership & Strategy-

Develop and execute the engineering strategy aligned with company goals.

Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning and technology adoption.

Develop and execute multi-year capital plansincluding ROI analysis, vendor selection, project management, and start-up support.

Ability to drive innovation and process improvements.

Lead strategic vendor and partner relationships for materials and technology sourcing.

Director of EngineeringDesign & Development-

Help drive R&D initiatives for new roofing technologies and energy-efficient solutions.

Develop succession planning and talent development programs within the engineering department.

Director of EngineeringProject Management-

Implement quality assurance processes for engineering deliverables.

Coordinate with operations, sales, and procurement teams for seamless project execution.

Implement project management best practices and tools for efficiency.

Monitor progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Resolve technical challenges promptly to avoid delays.

Director of EngineeringInnovation & Technology-

Identify and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., advanced materials, automation, digital tools).

Director of Engineering EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE-

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 1O+ years' experience in Manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within construction or roofing industry.
  • Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects and teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and managing high performance work systems and teams
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, CAD, Procore etc.)
  • Preferred but not required Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
