Metronet is looking for a professional, reliable, and highly motivated individuals to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving and distributing material to OSP Construction Crews, Splicing Teams, and Field Operations Technicians. This associate will prepare and maintain all associated forms and reports. The Warehouse Technician will keep track of inventory and report to the Purchasing Department when stock needs to be replenished. Keeping the Warehouse and Cable Yard in a neat and in an orderly fashion will be very important. This includes arranging for timely removal of empty duct, cable reels, and other debris and monitoring safe practices of Contractors or associates while on Metronet property.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; placing orders in delivery area; assist Metronet Contractors loading orders.
  • Maintains Forklift and other Warehouse Equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; arranging for repairs.
  • Maintains inventory controls.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Completes reports by entering required information.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to help away from the warehouse as required; able to work in all weather conditions
  • Performing and recording periodic inventory of materials on hand.
  • Monitoring Security of the Metronet Warehouse and Cable Yard
  • Lift at least 75lbs and operate Forklift
  • All other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of experience as a Warehouse Technician
• Forklift Certified
• Inventory Control experience
• Demonstrated Equipment maintenance experience and safely operating equipment
• Previous Data entry experience
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a professional and positive demeanor
• Oracle WMS software experience preferred but not required
• Proven track record of Continuous Improvement ideas
