PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position will provide direction, technical expertise, and application assistance for continuous improvement activities. This position will be responsible for Customer and Process Corrective Action system and Internal Quality Audit function and will participate in external customer audits and ISO 9001 activities. This position will function as the quality contact/facilitator for OEM customers, and may also be involved with scrap reduction, new product development projects and other special projects as required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, conduct and monitor the necessary training to meet quality objectives.
  • Assist Quality Management in the selection and utilization of the appropriate qualification methods, process controls and improvement techniques.
  • Collect, organize and report statistical data related to process performance to enhance the identification of quality problems and initiate the corrective action to resolve them.
  • Coordinate the necessary corrective actions for resolving quality problems identified by company personnel, customer complaints and OEM customer requirements.
  • Interface with customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Lead corrective action cross functional teams in operations area.
  • Prepare PPAP documentation per OEM customer requirements.
  • Support concurrent Engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
  • Administer PMI testing and create reports on components as required.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate Degree with background in quality, manufacturing or industrial technology.
  • Three years of quality and/or process improvement experience.
  • Quality engineering/metrology experience preferred.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 requirements.
  • Should possess analytical abilities.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Ability to move within office & manufacturing complex, write by hand & keyboard, and perform general office functions. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person. Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use. General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel. Must be able to work and communicate with all levels of company personnel, field sales employees, distributors, end users and suppliers.
