The Inventory Technician primary responsibilities are the oversight of physical and electronic inventories, maintaining control of finished good materials, and managing the logistics of outbound order fulfillment and inbound inventory deliveries. The Inventory Technician will keep accurate records in METRC, and any other software platforms initiated by the company, complete regular physical audits, and generate inventory reports by department. Inventory management and order fulfillment will be the primary roles of this position, but the Inventory Technician will be cross-trained and expected to help cover the duties throughout production when inventory is complete or does not take precedence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of regulated cannabis products and raw material chain of custody
  • Intake of new inventory additions, ensuring accuracy to product specifications and batch records, and alignment of corresponding technology systems

  • Perform physical inventory audits of all types of cannabis products including harvested plants, trimmed flower, pre-packaged material, and any other required product
  • Perform weighing and counting of inventory to check accuracy against reported inventory levels
  • Support financial and regulatory initiatives regarding inventory levels and value
  • Report inventory data to operational leadership daily, weekly, monthly and yearly
  • Ensure proper organization and labeling of product within the on-hand inventory, requiring that all inventory has an accurate batch number, strain name, and weight
  • Assist in preparing product to be transferred or delivered, tagging material with METRC tags and inputting delivery information and packages into ERP/MRP software
  • Report harvest data in METRC and ensure accurate harvest batch weights at all times
  • Report harvest waste and trim waste in METRC daily
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring that entry errors or inventory discrepancies can be traced back to originating sources to detect diversion or theft
  • Ensure METRC and regulatory compliance, including following correct procedures and documenting the submission of support tickets to METRC or Ohio DCC.
  • Communicate any METRC errors and support tickets with Operational Leadership
  • Ensure that no inactive or negative packages or harvest batches are present in METRC at any time, and determine the nature of a negative package or harvest batch
  • Maintain organized product storage, helping to open storage bins to initiate release of gas and moisture exchange to keep product fresh
  • Assist in maintaining proper humidity and temperature in the cure and product storage rooms, notifying management if environmental controls stray outside of the predetermined standard
  • Serve as a second layer of quality control, checking that product is free of mold/mildew, pests, and other contaminants
  • Manage the inbound logistics associated with cannabis purchases and other regulated materials
  • Maintain inventory of supplies necessary to complete inventory and METRC transfers, placing orders for inventory supplies and METRC tags with Operations Leadership when necessary
  • Apply required product labels and stickers to finished goods for distribution to company-owned dispensaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Perform duties of the Production Technician when inventory duties are complete
  • Other duties as assigned
