Job description

We're seeking a talentedSenior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Morristown, TN Cummins location.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Controlsrelated hazard mitigation: You'll recognize electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic risks and integrate safe practices into daily work plans, directly reducing incidents and downtime.

Technical competency

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues related toForgingpress,Ejectorsystem,Clutch mechanism,spindle systems, ball screws, linear guides, hydraulic unitsetc.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Understanding of machine electricalschematicsalong with PLC troubleshooting is essential.
  • Maintain forging presses, billet heaters, conveyors,CNCMachine,Broachesandplant utility equipment.
  • Ensure proper alignment,balance,and installation of mechanical equipment.
  • Support machine accuracy improvement through calibration and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain heat treatment furnaces, quench tanks, tempering furnaces, atmosphere control systems, burners, fans, and cooling systems.
  • Prepare spare parts specifications and procurement requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments before maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and trainingtomaintenance personnel.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Comprehensive maintenance expertise: You need the ability to maximize equipment availability and reliability across forging, CNC machining, and heattreat systems through disciplined preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Advanced diagnostic and RCA capability: Success requires strong troubleshooting skills for presses, ejectors, clutches, spindles, hydraulics, and linear systems, paired with structured rootcause analysis and permanent correctiveaction implementation.
  • Precision mechanical and calibration skills: You must be proficient in alignment, balancing, installation, calibration, and accuracyimprovement activities for presses, CNC machines, broaches, heaters, conveyors, and heattreat equipment.
  • Safety, systems, and leadership capability: You need strong adherence to LOTO, permits, risk assessments, and statutory compliance, along with the ability to guide and train maintenance personnel and work effectively with platforms like eMaint, Oracle ERP, and Kronos.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
