Work Location: U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground, Utah

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. At Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), southwest of Salt Lake City Utah, SA-TECH supports the West Desert Test Center (WDTC), the nationโ€™s designated Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB) for chemical and biological defense. The WDTC plans, conducts, evaluates, reports, and supports Chemical and Biological (CB) and non-CB testing efforts for the Department of Defense (DoD), other federal agencies, private industries, and foreign Governments (e.g., environmental assessment/impact evaluations, weapons and munitions demilitarization, chemical energetics/homemade explosive testing, unmanned systems testing, direct and indirect fire weapons testing, hazard assessments, and technical/logistical support of operations at DPG).

At DPG, SA-TECH is looking to hire a Flight Operations/Aviation Technician onto our team to support program efforts and contribute to success at this major DoD Test Facility.

  • Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide support for air traffic control operations.
  • Track and monitor flight plans, meteorology, navigation, flight line safety, and other information pertinent to airfield support.
  • Experienced in emergency services coordination for lost aircraft or aircraft in distress.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
  • Work is mostly performed indoors and outdoors under changing weather conditions and you may be exposed to the elements.
  • Must be familiar with safety processes, procedures and concerns in relation to working on active and busy flight lines.
  • May be required to lift and handle heavy items (50 lbs.).
  • Stand/walk, climb, stoop, bend and push and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks that require such protective gear.
RequirementsEducation/Experience/Skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialized training in air traffic control operations.
  • Knowledge of flight plans, meteorology, navigation, flight line safety, and other information pertinent to airfield support.
  • Experienced in emergency services coordination for lost aircraft or aircraft in distress.
  • A commitment to maintaining a productive and collaborative working environment.
  • Current Driverโ€™s License required; must be able to be insured through companyโ€™s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must have a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, as well as periodic retests.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driverโ€™s Record, and a Criminal Background Investigation.
