Job description

The Network News team at TelevisaUnivision is looking for an Associate Producer, Weather to join our team!

The Associate Producer is responsible for analyzing meteorological and atmospheric data to create accurate forecasts, weather graphics, and visual content for N+ Univision broadcasts, streaming, and digital platforms. This position supports on-air weather talent with daily weather coverage, breaking weather events, and special programming by providing timely analysis, forecast products, and graphics for broadcast and streaming distribution. This is primarily an off-air position.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

  • Create daily weather graphics and forecast presentations for television, streaming, and digital platforms.
  • Produce maps, forecast tracks, radar and satellite imagery, and other visual weather elements.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to N+ Univision visual standards.
  • Work closely with on-air meteorologists, producers, anchors, assignment desks, digital teams and provide suggestions on the production of stories.
  • Support on-air weather talent with forecast preparation, graphics, briefings, and meteorological analysis for daily coverage, breaking weather events, special programming, and daily rundown.
  • Participate in editorial planning and provide meteorological guidance for weather-related coverage.
  • Support breaking weather and severe weather coverage with timely forecasts, analysis, and graphics.
  • Research information and materials necessary for production.
  • Work early-morning schedules and extended hours during major weather events as needed.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to maintain weather systems and workflows.
  • Flexible with travel to cover weather events and breaking weather news as needed.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency with WSI weather systems or similar systems and related weather graphics tools.
  • Experience creating weather content for television, streaming, or digital platforms.
  • Strong news judgement.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish communication both written and oral.
  • Excellent Spanish grammar.
