Job description

Summary/Objective

The Service Foreman plays a critical role in delivering high-quality commercial roofing service work to customers throughout the Southern Minnesota region. This role focuses on leading a service crew in the execution of repairs, maintenance, leak investigations, small reroofs, and customer-driven service requests.
As the Service Foreman, you will coordinate daily service activities, ensure work meets Kato Roofing's standards of quality and safety, and maintain excellent communication with customers and internal teams. You will also provide hands-on leadership in the field, performing skilled roofing tasks and guiding technicians through safe and efficient work practices.

Essential Functions

  • Leading and managing a service crew to perform repairs, maintenance, inspections, and small roof replacement projects.
    - Conducting daily planning to ensure job readiness, material availability, equipment coordination, and proper crew assignments.
    - Performing roof leak investigations, troubleshooting, and diagnosing roofing issues.
    - Completing service repairs on built-up, single-ply, and sheet-metal roofing systems.
    - Ensuring all work meets Kato Roofing's quality standards.
    - Maintaining communication with the Service Superintendent and Service Coordinator.
    - Serving as the on-site contact for customers during service visits.
    - Documenting work performed, including photos, notes, and daily reports.
    - Ensuring compliance with Kato Roofing safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
    - Training and mentoring service technicians.
    - Identifying additional customer needs and service opportunities.
    - Managing tools, equipment, and materials to reduce waste and maintain efficiency.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday. Longer hours, evenings, and weekend work as necessary.

Travel
Travel to job sites in the region is required.
