KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designer
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control planย ย 
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures

  • Identify different types of material - Aluminum, 5000 series Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Paint Grip, Galvanneal, and Galvanized
  • Uphold site efficiency standards
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and procedures
  • Meet the standards of the site attendance policy
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned

Requirements

All Levels

  • Safely operate and/or set up ย press brake equipment to produce quality parts according to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, ย work instructions, drawings, and safety procedures
  • Follow established bending sequences and production requirements
  • Perform quality inspections using basic and precision measurement tools
  • Use tools such as calipers, squares, height gauges, and protractors
  • Identify and report defective ย materials, equipment issues, or questionable conditions
  • Perform basic mathematical ย calculations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and ย safe work area
  • Meet established quality, productivity, and attendance standards
  • Cross-train and assist in other ย areas as needed
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and efficiency

Press Brake Operator I - Entry Level

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their press brake skills.

  • Operate press brake equipment ย with training and support
  • Learn proper tooling, machine operation, and bending sequences
  • Produce consistent, repeatable ย parts according to specifications
  • Perform basic dimensional ย inspections
  • Learn to work with different ย material types, including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel
  • Develop the skills necessary to ย advance to higher Press Brake Operator levels

Press Brake Operator II - Intermediate

  • Set up press brake tooling, ย equipment, and machines based on production specifications
  • Make machine and tooling ย adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional requirements
  • Perform detailed dimensional ย inspections
  • Understand material behavior, ย ย including springback and deflection
  • Understand tooling requirements ย for hems, offsets, and various bend applications
  • Understand V-opening requirements ย in relation to material thickness
  • Make new machine programs as ย needed
  • Troubleshoot production and ย quality issues
  • Complete reference sheets for ย complex parts
  • Work independently while meeting ย established quality and efficiency standards
  • Cross-train on multiple machines ย and workstations

Press Brake Operator III - Advanced

  • Perform advanced press brake ย setups and machine adjustments
  • Develop bend sequences for ย complex parts
  • Create and modify machine ย programs
  • Manage tooling and assist with ย tool library maintenance
  • Troubleshoot complex production ย and quality issues
  • Help identify and resolve machine or tooling issues
  • Train and mentor Press Brake Operators to company standards
  • Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and communicate maintenance needs
  • Support production scheduling and ย communication with leadership as needed
  • Serve as a technical resource for ย other Press Brake Operators

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Press Brake Operator I

  • Manufacturing or machine ย operating experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read and follow work ย instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or drawings
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn press brake operation and setup
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and quality

Press Brake Operator II

  • 2+ years of related press brake ย or metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret ย blueprints and work instructions
  • Experience setting up press brake equipment and tooling
  • Understanding of bend sequences and material behavior
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools
  • Ability to make machine and tooling adjustments
  • Experience creating or modifying machine programs preferred

Press Brake Operator III

  • 4+ years of related press brake ย experience preferred
  • Strong press brake setup and ย operating experience
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and drawings
  • Advanced understanding of ย tooling, bend sequences, and material behavior
  • Ability to create and modify ย machine programs
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex ย production issues
  • Ability to train and mentor other employees
  • Strong understanding of quality ย and efficiency requirements

Education
