Metal Fabricator / Model Maker (Aerospace Sheet Metal) โ€“ 1st Shift | Sterling Heights, MI

Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift)
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabricator / Model Maker with hands-on experience in aerospace sheet metal fabrication and traditional hand tool equipment. This role is ideal for a craftsman who excels in precision work and โ€œold schoolโ€ fabrication techniques used to build complex models and components. Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble aerospace sheet metal components and models
  • Use manual fabrication techniques and hand tools (shears, brakes, rollers, English wheel, hammers, dollies, etc.)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and templates
  • Perform layout, forming, cutting, bending, and shaping of metal materials
  • Build prototypes, mock-ups, and production parts to tight tolerances
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on custom builds and revisions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or model making
  • Strong background in aerospace sheet metal (required)
  • Expertise with hand tools and manual fabrication equipment (โ€œold schoolโ€ skillset)
