Position Summary

Farha Roofing is seeking skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Roofing Installers to join our growing Wichita team. This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of architectural and commercial sheet metal roofing systems, including standing seam roofs, wall panels, custom flashings, coping, gutters, downspouts, and related metal components.


The ideal candidate has experience working with sheet metal roofing systems, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, follows safety procedures, and works effectively in a team-oriented environment. Candidates with roofing, sheet metal fabrication, or construction experience are encouraged to apply.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sheet Metal Installation

  • Install standing seam metal roofing systems, exposed fastener panels, wall panels, coping, fascia, soffit, gutters, downspouts, and custom flashings.
  • Measure, cut, bend, fabricate, and install sheet metal components according to project specifications.
  • Ensure all installations are watertight, structurally sound, and meet Farha Roofing quality standards.

Fabrication & Layout

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Fabricate custom metal components using brakes, shears, seamers, and other sheet metal equipment.
  • Verify dimensions and layouts prior to installation.

Roof Repairs & Maintenance

  • Inspect existing roofing systems and identify repair needs.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on sheet metal roofing systems and related components.
  • Troubleshoot leaks and other roofing deficiencies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA regulations and Farha Roofing safety policies.
  • Properly use fall protection, PPE, ladders, lifts, and other safety equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, foremen, and crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and other trades on-site.
  • Assist with training and mentoring less experienced crew members when needed.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in sheet metal roofing, commercial roofing, metal fabrication, or construction preferred.
  • Experience with standing seam roofing systems is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal installation techniques and materials.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, brakes, shears, seamers, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of roofing and construction safety practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
