Job description

Taylor Metal Products is a leading manufacturer of high end steel roofing and siding products. We have been in business for over 20 years and continue to grow each year. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team who will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) in order to ensure uninterrupted production of quality products that meet compliance with company standards.

Local metal building materials manufacturer offering a full-time position as a Warehouse Maintenance, Millwright, Mechanic. We are seeking a reliable, self-driven individual with the capability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair multiple types of equipment throughout the manufacturing plant.  Must be a dependable team player and take pride in quality workmanship.

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with operating, repairing and conducting routine maintenance on forklifts, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, motors and other equipment or tools as needed. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for trouble-shooting, repairs, process and safety improvements. 
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and determine the appropriate measures to correct them.  Additionally, provide cost estimates to conduct said corrections. 
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metals.
  • Experience programming and operating CNC machinery desired. 
  • Be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma.
  • Good time management and strong work ethic.
  • Pass background check and physical ability test.

Job Duties

  • Ability to set-up, operate and program computerized press-brake, roll-forming machines, machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate preventive maintenance schedules as well as knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures. 
  • Lead or conduct the safe removal and installation of equipment
  • Perform weekly safety checks to ensure a safe and clean operating environment and eliminate all hazards.
  • Provide groundskeeping services such as landscaping, snow removal and exterior maintenance as appointed by management. 
  • Setup and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machined parts, jigs fixtures or tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform repetitive motion activities for several hours at time
  • Sit and stand for long periods
  • Lift, carry, push & pull 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Lift, flip, pull and set down up to 25-35 lbs. frequently
  • Bend at waist, twist and reach frequently during the day

Work Schedule:

Hours: M-F, 7am-4pm; overtime may be required based on business needs

Wage: $25 - $33
