Epic Piping has an exciting opportunity available for a Fitter to be an integral part of our Fabrication team. Epic takes pride in our quality of work and has a goal of building our workforce with the most talented employees. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
- Work in conjunction with other departments (Cutting operations and bay pulling) to ensure all relative materials are properly staged and ready for fabrication.
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together in various body positions. - Bolt, clamp, and weld together metal components of products, such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes.
- May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, or portable grinder.
- Remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using handheld grinder or gas torch, hand scrapper, grinder, or power chipper.
- Preheat work piece, using hand torch.
- Cut metal plates or structural shapes.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Load, transport, and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
