Job description

Job Title: Data Architect - Erwin Data Modeling
Duration: 8+ months
Location: Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL
Tax Terms: C2C, W2.
Work Authporization: H1B, USC, GC.
Role Description We are seeking a Data Modeler/Data Architect to provide expert guidance on gathering and analysis of business data requirements and the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling within our organization. The main focus of the work will be in development and maintenance of a catalog of the information assets - through business representation, physical representation in databases as well as in files used to source data from suppliers of data, and the associated meta data from data sourcing through to persistence.
Requirements
• Gather and analyze business data requirements and model these needs. In doing so, work closely with the users of the information; the application developers and architects, to ensure the information models are capable of meeting their needs.
• Deliver the models both formally and informally through presentations to applications development groups and management.
• Lead database level tuning and optimization in support of application development teams on an ad-hoc basis.
• Develop test scripts for testing sourced data and their validation and transformation when persisting in data stores that are physical representations of the data models.
• Analyze information models in real-world systems and make useful and practical recommendations to their improvement.
• Provide solutions for complex information modeling and architecture problems.
• Some team leadership in projects is required.
• Limited travel may be required
Qualifications
• Minimum of 8+ year's of business requirements analysis and information modeling (logical and physical) of key financial products (Bilateral, OTC & exchange traded, centrally cleared) and concepts (e.g. positions, trades, financing transactions, future flows, collateral/margining) in the securities/financial industry.
• Minimum of 5+ years in handling Teradata based Physical Modeling .
• Minimum of 5+ years in Leading database level tuning and optimization in support of application development teams.
• Proficiency in SQL in order to access and analyze data residing in relational and dimensional databases
• Proficiency in a data modeling tool - preferably Erwin .
• Good working experience of Microsoft Office suite
• General knowledge of financial and securities industry products, processes and practices .
• High degree of motivation and adaptability.
• Influence skills to work with development teams whose short-term goals may differ.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to Big data is a plus.
