Job description

At Sunrun, we're on a mission to change the way the world interacts with energy, and we're building a company and brand that puts power at the center of life. To do it, we're designing a dynamic culture where employee development, well-being, and safety come first. It's why we've become the #1 home solar and battery company in America. We're unlike any other residential energy company. Our vertically integrated model gives us total control over every part of the energy lifecycle - from sale through installation and beyond - so you can find endless opportunities for growth. Come join a career you can grow in and a culture you can run with.
Who We Are
We're on a mission to make energy more reliable and affordable for more people. We provide an opportunity with storage and solar to help people access greater energy independence without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the country and has a mission to bring stably priced resilient power to the masses.
At Sunrun, we believe in a future powered by clean, reliable home energy. The Performance Marketing Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of our paid digital media portfolio.
You are a data-driven marketer who thrives on the challenge of scaling customer acquisition while maintaining efficiency. You will oversee a multimillion dollar budget across Paid Search, Paid Social, and Display, ensuring that our top-of-funnel efforts translate into bottom-of-funnel installs. This role requires a Triage Mindset-the ability to identify underperforming campaigns instantly and pivot strategy to maximize ROI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Channel Strategy & Budget Management
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the day-to-day performance of Paid Search (SEM), Paid Social (Meta/TikTok), and Display/Programmatic channels.
  • Budget Allocation: Dynamically shift budgets between channels and campaigns based on real-time performance to hit monthly acquisition targets.
  • Forecasting: Partner with Finance and Sales Operations to provide accurate lead and acquisition forecasts based on planned marketing spend.

Performance Optimization & Testing
  • Full-Funnel Analytics: Monitor performance from the initial click to the final install, ensuring a high-quality handoff to the Air team.
  • A/B Testing: Lead a rigorous test-and-learn culture, constantly iterating on ad copy, creative assets, and landing page experiences to lower CPAs.
  • AI-Driven Efficiency: Leverage AI for audience modeling, predictive bidding, and automated creative testing to stay ahead of market shifts.

Collaboration & Reporting.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex digital metrics (CTR, CPC, ROAS) into business outcomes (Cost Per Signature, Cost Per Install) for executive leadership.
  • Integrity & Compliance: Ensure all digital advertising adheres to Sunrun's brand guidelines and compliance policies.

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)
  • Experience: 12+ years in performance-based digital marketing, specifically managing large-scale budgets in a high-growth environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and Salesforce/CRM. Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and multi-touch attribution models.
  • The Triage Mindset: A natural inclination for rapid-fire problem-solving and the ability to prioritize tasks based on their immediate impact on revenue.
  • AI/Data Literacy: Proficiency in using AI-assisted tools for data synthesis and program building. You should be comfortable using AI to build reports and find leaks in the funnel.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to convey digital strategy to non-technical stakeholders, including Directors and VPs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
  • Operational Tech Proficiency: Ability to perform standard office duties, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Visual & Mental Focus: Must be able to maintain high levels of concentration while reviewing complex technical audits, code, and data dashboards.
  • Communication: Ability to interact, present, and facilitate in person and virtual meetings with internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Travel: Occasional travel (up to 15%) for agency reviews, industry conferences, or national strategy sessions.
