Job description

Job responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners and business SMEs to catalog data products for the Payments organization, per firmwide standards
  • Actively drive expansion of the Payments data catalog, and maturation of content to maximize discoverability and leverage (measured by firmwide KPIs)
  • Provide oversight/governance on firmwide platform enhancements to support the Payments data product strategy
  • Ensure all risks, issues and dependencies impacting effective delivery are managed effectively and communicated in an effective manner
  • Develop strong partnerships with Firmwide Technology to support effective migration to, and adoption of new data catalog tooling and functionality
  • Identify opportunities to intersect with other Data Management functions to improve meta data and consistency of definitions
  • Build strong partnerships across Payments and Corporate Functions to support Data Catalog and Payments data product efforts
  • Collaborate with the Information Architecture team to identify synergies between logical and physical data descriptions, and drive related / subsequent strategic initiatives
  • Participate in Information Architecture / Data governance bodies
  • Display thought leadership in data management techniques and methodologies
  • Perform project management and deep business analysis on specific high profile data issues/initiatives
  • Proactively identify synergies within the rest of the Payments CDO BOW, and effectively collaborate with team members to deliver on impact driven opportunities
  • Add to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualification, capabilities, and skills 

  • 10+ years' experience in financial services with data analytics / data management / data product management background
  • Strong understanding of data governance and metadata management concepts
  • Experience in driving/managing projects and programs focused on metadata management, data dictionaries etc.. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills - candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority across Product, Technology and CDO
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard
  • Basic understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services
  • Effective change management skills - ability to support & adapt within a changing environment

Preferred qualification, capabilities, and skills 

  • Experience in a CDO, Technology or Data Product organization within a large investment bank or large financial services firm
  • Experience within a Payments organization
