Job Summary:
1872 Consulting is seeking a Messaging Engineer responsible for operational support and project initiatives involving Messaging and Active Directory environments. The role includes maintenance, support, and enhancements of messaging systems like Exchange and Outlook, ensuring 100% uptime and improving user experience.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzing, planning, testing and implementation of Active Directory and Messaging application software
• Actively pursuing new technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Active Directory and Messaging systems
• Actively pursuing new technologies to improve user experience especially in terms of Mobility
• Monitoring and analyzing the Active Directory and Messaging systems to ensure 100% uptime operational availability
• Support high availability technologies
• Performing root cause analysis and providing recommendations to improve efficiencies and resolve problems
• Resolving problems with Active Directory, Messaging and Application Performance systems and technologies
• Escalating problems to vendors
• Providing troubleshooting training to the User Support team
• Implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery solutions
• Documenting system uptime and usage metrics
• Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and change management logs
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis
Qualifications:
Required:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Active Directory and Messaging
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2016 (to include monitoring, clustering, HA/DR, backup/restore, and attached storage)
• Strong expertise with Proofpoint including the multiple security features available
• Strong expertise with Active Directory
• Strong expertise with mail security
• Strong understanding of Mobility
• Strong understanding of message routing technologies
• Experience with SMTP gateway tools and appliances
• Experience with Messaging monitoring & reporting tools
• Understanding of TLS / SPF connections to firm clients
• Strong understanding of technical networking
• Strong knowledge of Windows 2012 & 2016
• Strong planning and analysis skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Strong understanding of MS Office Suite
• Strong understanding of email clients
