Job Description:

The ATS Quality Division Manager is responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of quality systems and processes throughout the ATS Business Unit. This role involves ensuring that ATS and its Suppliers meet the quality standards set by regulatory, industry, and customer requirements. This will be accomplished by working with the external and internal stakeholders on the most efficient processes that produces the best results for Quality, Cost, and Delivery. Transparency and open communication is important within the Business Unit to achieve the BU's business goals.

Responsibilities include:

Provides Leadership Vision to the ATS Quality Division

o Directs Quality Assurance organization at the ATS Lake Forest site. Goal is to Design Quality into the Product and Process.

o Devises and recommends medium-term plans that align with long-term goals.

o Sets annual plans and ensure alignment in accordance with the global and BU strategies.

o Encourages feedback from the internal departments on how to best achieve the business objectives.

o Annual budget planning and approving expenses as required per job level.

o Reporting status/progress of activities to ATS CEO and Quality Global Division Director

Strategic visionary responsible for delivering a defect free product to customers

o Create a quality culture within ATS site founded on Quality Assurance policies/procedures

o Promote New Product Introduction process

o Promote and provide resources for Product Life Cycle process and its check points.

o End-to-end ownership of quality strategy including at: Design, Supplier Authorization, Incoming Material, Assembly, and Final Quality Assurance steps

o Participating in regular project (core team) meetings and making suggestions, takes actions.

o Managing product quality issue corrective action activities

o Assure compliance with applicable ISO standards

o Support ESG (Environmental Social Governance) efforts for the BU.

Proven leader that demonstrates influence and strong partner orientation to enable closed loop continuous improvement processes

o Assure monitoring of the incoming quality levels.

o Partner with Supply Chain Manager and Major Suppliers to address systemic issues

o Partner with Customers, Account leaders, and Field Service Engineering team to ensure defect free products deployment at customer test sites

o Collaborate with Operations Management team to drive quality assurance systems into manufacturing and assembly processes

o Own the cost of quality programs cross functionally

o Active collaboration with initial Engineering Product Development team to ensure quality standards from design inception

o Confirms process compliance thru Product, System, and Process audits

Employee Development

o Educate ATS members on the Advantest Quality Vision.

o Direct resource/educational plan development and assure employee training based on the plan

o Assure Quality employee development plans are being made and process is in place. Direct managers for employees should have at minimum 1:1 session's quarterly to discuss their development plans.

o Provide coaching and support to enhance employee performance.

Safety

o Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures.

o Ensure compliance with all Safety Standards and metrics

Compliance

o Ensures Calibration program at ATS site is in compliance.

o Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics

o Owns ensuring the team operates consistent with the Code of Ethics

o Owns ensuring the team performs all job duties within ISO standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.

Requirements:

BS or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent

Minimum: 10 years' experience in quality including issue reporting and/or manufacturing

Experienced people manager

Intermediate level knowledge in MES, production database tools

Proven track record of creating a quality culture and strategy

Possess a valid passport and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

ISO9001 Quality Management Knowledge (AS9100 is a plus)

Excellent Communication, interpersonal, and cross-collaboration skills

Thrives in a dynamic team environment

Work independently and proactively

Personally support inspections when necessary to help the team

This is an on-site role at the ATS facility in Lake Forest, CA

Additional Skills Preferred:

Experience with ISO9001 Standard

Work experience in Semiconductor industry

Experience with failure analysis

Capable of working independently with minimal direction & without supervision
