Job Summary

Works with department managers, store managers and other assistant managers as part of the retail team.

Job Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 1 year of related experience in a retail environment

Valid drivers license and/or reliable transportation

SkillsAbility to count change

Ability to work a cash register and count change

Good customer service skills

Problem solving skills and ability to think critically

Self motivated, ability to stay productive even while unsupervised

Good communication skills

Organized

General Accountabilities

Greets and actively assists customers with sales and products

Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on product features

Actively engages with customers in the store

Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

Orders merchandise for customers when not in stock

Maintains an active product knowledge and discusses available options with customers

Processes sales, returns and makes change for purchases

Stocks, displays and prices merchandise

Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise to promote sales

Keeps store clean and well stocked

Performs end of day duties such as preparing the nightly deposit and counting the drawer

Suggests ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing store design)

Follow and achieve department sales goals

Go the “extra mile” to drive sales

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, bend or kneel, reach above your head and be able to grasp and type with your hands

Regularly required to use a step stool to reach merchandise
