Gastroenterologist
Meritus Medical Center | Hagerstown, MD
Competitive Salary + $150,000 Sign-On Bonus + 6 Weeks PTO
Position Highlights

Clinical Practice This role provides comprehensive gastroenterology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings:
Procedural & Endoscopy Services
  • Full spectrum of endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, etc.)
  • Option for advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS, etc.) based on interest and training
  • Access to modern endoscopy suites and equipment
  • Inpatient consults and procedures

Outpatient & Clinic Services
  • Busy outpatient GI clinic with an established patient panel
  • Management of chronic GI conditions
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Telehealth options available

Patient Population Treat adult patients with a full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, including:
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis)
  • Liver disease and hepatitis
  • GERD and esophageal disorders
  • Pancreatic and biliary diseases
  • GI bleeding and anemia
  • Colorectal cancer screening and surveillance
  • Functional GI disorders

Care commonly involves diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, chronic disease management, and coordination with surgery and oncology when needed.
Typical Clinical Volume
  • Mix of clinic days and dedicated endoscopy/procedure time
  • Efficient workflow with strong support staff
  • Established referral patterns for immediate ramp-up

Academic & Faculty Role
  • Opportunities to teach with the upcoming Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine (launching Summer 2025)
