Job description

Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst

Our strategically growing Corporate Department is seeking to hire an M&A Analyst to join our Mergers and Acquisitions practice team summer of 2027. Serving the needs of private equity, business owners, investment bankers, business sellers, executives, and professionals, you will participate in major transactions throughout the country. Working alongside a team of expert attorneys, you will be part of the team developing fast paced and creative solutions to company mergers, acquisitions, sales and private equity transactions.

The position is intended to be a 2-3 year role to develop expertise in the M&A specialty that will be useful in a legal, investment banking, private equity or a corporate M&A career. It would also be useful in gaining experience prior to business school or law school.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform varied work that spans inception to closing on M&A deals;
  • Participate and support deal teams in many different functions including due diligence, preparing legal documents, and researching legal precedent;
  • Develops, maintains, and continuously improves tools used in M&A matters; including identifying and applying appropriate AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve efficiency and analytical capabilities;
  • Coordinate projects and team efforts through effective communication and follow-up;
  • Interact directly with business people, investment professionals and other stakeholders;
  • Work collaboratively as part of a highly-functioning deal team; and
  • Provide research and analytics useful to clients and the M&A process, including leveraging AI tools to support research, analysis, organization, and synthesis of information;
  • Identify opportunities to use AI and other emerging technologies to streamline recurring processes, improve workflows, and enhance the quality and efficiency of M&A analysis; and
  • Exercise appropriate judgment and oversight when using AI tools, including reviewing and validating AI-generated information and outputs for accuracy, completeness, and relevance.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and a strong interest in Mergers & Acquisitions or the legal industry;
  • Excellent track record, and demonstrated ability to think critically;
  • Ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form;
  • Strong work ethic, desire to learn, excellent leadership skills and action-oriented interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility;
  • Desire to continuously learn and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Effective analytical skills, pro-active approach, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in or willingness to learn and apply AI and emerging technologies to research, analysis, and business processes;
