Anesthesiologist Opportunity At Mercy Cedar Rapids

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing professional medical services to patients of Mercy Medical Center in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Seeking highly qualified anesthesiologists to join Mercy Cedar Rapids' new, growing employed anesthesiology group of over 25 anesthesiologists.

Mercy's compensation package for full-time anesthesiologists includes:

  • $600,000 base salary.
  • $300,000 signing/starting bonus.
  • 12+ weeks of paid leave, including post-primary call day off.
  • Just 12 primary call shifts per year.
  • Perform your own cases.

Successful candidates will be:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology.
  • Licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice medicine in Iowa.

The anesthesiologists will support Mercy's broad range of high-volume surgical and procedural services, including general surgery, obstetrics, and cardiac in its 15 operating rooms, 5 endoscopy suites, and ambulatory surgery center.

Recognized as the area's surgery hospital, more surgeries and procedures are performed at Mercy than at any other Cedar Rapids hospital. With the growth we've experienced, we anticipate continuing to be the area's leader in this space.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Performs duties in a tactful and professional manner.

Professional experience:

  • 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in field of practice preferred.

Education:

  • Education sufficient to obtain required licensure.

Licensure, certification, registration:

  • Licensed to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in the State of Iowa required.
  • Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date.
