Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Merchandise Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our retail operation for the following clubs: The Golf Club at Dove Mountan, The Gallery and The Gallery Sports & Lifestyle shop. The Merchandise Manager is responsible for curating and maintaining a dynamic merchandise assortment, optimizing sales and profitability, delivering exceptional member and guest experiences, and managing retail staff.

Experience Required

3-5 years of Golf or mainstream Retail merchandising experience

Essential Responsibilities
  • Merchandise Planning & Buying: Develop and execute an annual merchandise plan aligned with club goals and member preferences. Source, select, and purchase inventory-including apparel, equipment, accessories, and gifts-ensuring a compelling and profitable assortment.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage open-to-buy, and implement inventory control processes. Conduct regular stock analysis, manage markdowns, and minimize shrinkage.
  • Visual Merchandising: Design and implement attractive, seasonally relevant visual displays to drive sales and highlight featured products. Ensure the retail space is consistently organized, clean, and inviting.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and reps. Negotiate pricing, terms, and exclusive offers for the club. Oversee vendor onboarding and resolve any supply chain or quality issues promptly.
  • Sales Performance & Analytics: Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Member & Guest Experience: Provide outstanding customer service to members and guests. Address special orders, product inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner. Train staff to deliver a premium retail experience.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise retail staff. Foster a positive, results-driven team environment focused on member engagement and sales excellence.
  • Event Support & Promotion: Plan and execute retail promotions and sales events, including trunk shows, demo days, and tournament merchandising. Collaborate with club event coordinators to integrate retail into member events.
