REGION:  Hattiesburg/Laurel, MS area

Imperial Trading Co., LLC is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Sales Merchandise to join the New Orleans, LA Team!  This role may be based in the Hattiesburg/Laurel, MS area and will cover the Jackson, MS market, as well as accounts throughout Mississippi and Alabama. The Sales Merchandiser plays a crucial role in driving sales and enhancing the visibility of our products in the wholesale trade industry. This position is responsible for executing merchandising strategies that align with company goals, ensuring that our merchandise is presented effectively to maximize customer engagement. The Sales Merchandiser will collaborate with sales teams to launch new items and manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock is available and well-displayed. Additionally, this role involves analyzing sales data and forecasting trends to optimize product placement and inventory management. SUMMARY OF DUTIES: A Sales Merchandiser proactively executes retail business directives, maintains in-store conditions to standards and resolves issues at store level in a timely manner. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES are listed below:   Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Sales Merchandiser position, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description. 

  • Primary duty is relative to supporting sales, or creating maximum sales order potential by proactively executing in-store directives and timely communication in the resolution of issues and/or identification of opportunities;   
  • Must be available to occasionally travel overnight (average 40/50 nights per year);
  • Set and reset merchandise in store to match the authorized layout (Plan O Gram) provided by the Store owner/Manager or Merchandising Manager; 
  • Responsible to perform basic merchandising duties including, but not limited to, timely updating store order tags, replacing worn pegs, stripping, and channel strips; required to maintain adequate inventory of merchandising supplies and tools to remove deleted products and place new products and/or rearrange products; 
  • Required to assemble or breakdown, install and determine proper placement for racks and store fixtures consistent with increasing profitability to the customer and company; 
  • Drive truck, unload and unpack merchandise into the store; 
  • Maintain proper merchandising and shelf labeling in existing accounts to remove deleted items and place new items; 
  • Maintain proper locations for racks and store fixtures and adequate quantities in location to be shipped; 
  • Responsible for maximizing sales and profit objectives by timely execution of in-store directives; 
  • When applicable, identify potential new customers via regular and timely qualified referrals to the business development team; 
  • Responsible for reporting needs and changes in the marketplace to Sales Support Manager and Business Development personnel; 
  • Responsible executing all directives as mandated and requested by management and company; 
  • Responsible for attending sales support meetings and specified company functions; 
  • Customarily and is regularly engaged away from the Company’s place or places of business;  
  • Responsible for owning/leasing a reliable vehicle and maintaining company required level of insurance for the purpose of executing the duties and responsibilities listed in the job description;   
  • Reports to work, meetings, and scheduled business affairs on time, as directed by management and completes above listed tasks in a competent manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing somewhat strenuous activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  To perform the functions of this job the employee must regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.                 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The work environment characteristics described here a representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The employee must occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and in wet, humid conditions.  The noise level of the work environment is moderate.
