Job description

Position Summary:
The Merchandising Assistant plays a vital role in supporting store changeovers and resets, and improving operational processes and procedures. This includes managing the transportation, assembly, and set-up of store fixtures and assisting with warehouse duties. Additionally, this role ensures the efficient and accurate delivery and stocking of products in line with company standards.

Travel: 50% Overnight Travel Required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Store Fixture Preparation: Prepare store fixtures and necessary equipment for transportation to store locations. This includes assembling, straightening shelves/racks, setting up display cases, and following specific store project instructions.

  • Product Stocking and Organization: Safely and efficiently stock products according to individual store requirements and company planograms. Ensure products are placed correctly, according to the storeโ€™s layout.

  • Team Leadership: Without the Merchandising Manager, you may lead the changeover/reset team, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

  • Inventory Management: Responsible for stocking, organizing, and inventorying shelves, fixtures, and accessories. Accurately pull necessary fixtures and accessories for store resets, changeovers, and updates based on store layout documents.

  • Warehouse Support: Assist with receiving and stocking duties in the warehouse as needed.

  • Local Delivery Service: Provide delivery services to local store locations as required.

  • Excess Product Management: Assist with reboxing and liquidating excess product obtained during store conversions.

  • Company Truck Operation: Drive the company truck for product expos between store locations and assist the marketing department as time allows.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as directed by the Merchandising Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in merchandising or a related field preferred.

  • Valid Driverโ€™s License (Class D) with the ability to obtain a Health Card.

  • Ability to travel with potential overnight stays due to varying store locations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

  • Strong customer service orientation and a results-driven mindset.
