Atlanta Track Club is a nonprofit committed to creating an active and healthy Atlanta. Through running and walking, Atlanta Track Club motivates, inspires and engages the community to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
With 45,000 members, Atlanta Track Club is the second largest running organization in the United States. In addition to the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race - the largest 10K running event in the world, the Northside Hospital Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race, the Atlanta Marathon, PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, Atlanta Track Club directs more than 30 events per year. Through the support of its members and volunteers, Atlanta Track Club also maintains a number of community initiatives including organizing and promoting the Kilometer Kids youth running program to metro Atlanta youth, honoring high school cross country and track and field athletes through Atlanta Track Club's All-Metro Banquets. Position Overview: Reporting to the Director - Marketing and Communications, the Coordinator - Design is a hands-on graphic design and production role responsible for executing creative across Atlanta Track Club's events, programs and brand properties. Working from established brand standards and creative direction, this position will design, adapt and produce a high volume of print and digital materials, including event signage, apparel, medals, race numbers, advertisements, social and email graphics, presentations and branded merchandise. The ideal candidate is an early-career designer with strong design fundamentals, excellent attention to detail and a desire to learn and grow. This person should be comfortable receiving clear creative direction and feedback, making revisions efficiently and carrying an approved creative concept consistently across a wide range of applications. Organization is critical to this position. Atlanta Track Club produces more than 40 events annually, often with multiple creative projects moving simultaneously and firm production deadlines. The Coordinator - Design will help maintain organized creative files and templates, prepare production-ready artwork and ensure final assets are accurate and delivered on time. This is an opportunity for a developing designer to gain significant hands-on experience across event, apparel, print, digital and brand design. This person must be willing to work select evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours in support of Atlanta Track Club events, programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Execute design concepts and creative direction provided by the Director - Marketing and Communications across Atlanta Track Club events, programs and campaigns.
  • Design and produce event and marketing collateral, including signage, apparel, medals, race numbers, advertisements, digital graphics, presentations, branded merchandise and other creative materials.
  • Carry approved creative concepts across print, social media, email, digital advertising, websites, event signage and other formats while maintaining strong visual and brand consistency.
  • Make creative revisions accurately and efficiently based on feedback from the Director - Marketing and Communications and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare production-ready artwork for printers, apparel vendors, medal manufacturers, signage vendors and other external partners, ensuring appropriate dimensions, bleeds, color specifications, resolution and file packaging.
  • Proof creative materials for spelling, event names, dates, distances, sponsor logos, brand standards, dimensions and other production details before final delivery.
  • Maintain organized working files, final artwork, templates, photography, logos and other creative assets, and update existing event and campaign materials from year to year.
  • Support the development of event identities, campaigns, branded merchandise, apparel and other creative concepts under the direction of the Director - Marketing and Communications.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Events, Partnerships, Merchandising and other departments to gather information and assets and support creative needs across Atlanta Track Club events, programs and properties, including Atlanta Track Club Elite, Atlanta Track Club Foundation, Running City USA and Kilometer Kids.
  • Support Atlanta Track Club events on-site as assigned, including event setup, signage installation, load-in/load-out and other event-day responsibilities.
  • Stay current on design tools, production techniques, creative best practices and relevant visual trends, and support other creative and Marketing needs as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • College degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of professional graphic design experience, internship experience or a strong portfolio demonstrating equivalent capabilities.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, color and other fundamental design principles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Familiarity with Acrobat, Premiere Pro or other creative tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of brand consistency and the ability to create high-quality work within established brand guidelines and creative direction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with event information, dates, sponsor logos, production specifications and multiple versions of creative assets.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects, revisions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable receiving creative direction and feedback and incorporating revisions accurately and efficiently.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop new skills and grow as a designer through hands-on experience, feedback and mentorship.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to problem-solve and ask questions when project requirements or production specifications need clarification.
  • Understanding of print and digital production requirements preferred; willingness to learn production processes required.
  • Familiarity with or interest in the running, walking and fitness community is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to support event load-in/load-out, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work select weekends, evenings, holidays and extended weekday hours as needed.
