Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mendix Application Tester to support the validation and quality assurance of Mendix-based applications, integrations, and business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, experience working within low-code application environments, and the ability to collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure application quality and operational readiness. This role requires hands-on experience testing Mendix applications, user interfaces, workflows, integrations, and business logic.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Mendix applications.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing to validate end-to-end business processes.
  • Collaborate with Mendix developers, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Validate application workflows, business rules, user interfaces, security roles, and data integrity within the Mendix platform.
  • Test integrations between Mendix applications and external systems, APIs, databases, and enterprise platforms.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, QTest).
  • Support test data preparation, environment validation, and release testing activities.
  • Participate in deployment, go-live, hypercare, and post-release validation activities as needed.
  • Provide detailed testing metrics, defect reporting, and quality status updates to project teams and leadership.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts where applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in software application testing, including experience testing Mendix applications or other low-code platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience validating application workflows, forms, business rules, and role-based security models.
  • Hands-on experience testing integrations with REST APIs, web services, databases, and third-party applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and iterative release cycles.
  • Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, QTest, or Zephyr.
  • Ability to create clear, comprehensive test plans, test cases, and defect documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Mendix application development or Mendix platform administration.
  • Mendix Rapid Developer, Intermediate Developer, Advanced Developer, or Tester certification.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Tricentis Tosca, TestComplete, or Postman.
  • Understanding of enterprise application architecture, integrations, and business process automation.
  • Experience testing applications deployed in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Mendix Cloud).
  • ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation or enterprise application modernization initiatives.
