Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Deli / Meat Case Stocker to maintain and stock lunchmeat and fresh meat cases in our grocery store in Knox, IN. This role is responsible for ensuring products are well-stocked, fresh, properly rotated, and presented to customers in a clean and organized manner.

The ideal candidate is dependable, able to work independently, and takes pride in maintaining quality, freshness, and cleanliness standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesStocking & Product Handling

Stock lunchmeat, packaged meats, and fresh meat cases

Consistently follow proper product rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out) to ensure freshness and minimize waste

Check and manage product dates daily; remove outdated or damaged items

Keep cases clean, fully stocked, faced, and organized at all times

Quality & Cleanliness

Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and display cases

Follow all food safety and handling procedures

Monitor product quality closely and report concerns immediately

Inventory Support

Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries

Help track inventory levels and notify management of low stock

Support shrink reduction by maintaining strict rotation and proper handling practices

Customer Service

Assist customers with product questions when needed

Maintain a friendly and professional attitude

Qualifications

Prior grocery, deli, or stocking experience preferred (not required)

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Strong attention to detail and organization

Dependable and able to work independently

Willingness to follow food safety guidelines

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience

Experience working with perishable foods or refrigerated products
