Job description

Your Role as a Member Relationship Advisor I

As a Member Relationship Advisor I. at Navigant Credit Union, you'll be on the front lines of helping our members with their financial needs and supporting a positive and personalized experience. We're looking for someone to play an active role in the following areas:

  • Delivering Outstanding Service: Help members in-person, over the phone, and online. Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, and address changes.
  • Cross-Selling Products: Assist members in opening new accounts (checking, savings, certificates, IRAs) and recommend products and services that meet their financial needs. Develop an understanding of all consumer lending products and proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell beneficial products and services.
  • Loan Processing & Member Support: Help members complete loan applications, collect necessary documentation, and provide updates on loan status. Originate and close NCU's Smart Start, Cash Reserve Lines of Credit, and Personal Unsecured consumer loans. Ensure members understand their loan terms and next steps.
  • Problem-Solving & Advocacy: Address member inquiries and concerns with empathy, ensuring each interaction aligns with our core values. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable compliance, operational, and risk controls, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the SAFE Act.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless service and contribute to a positive team environment. Collaborate with branch team and business partners to acquire and deepen member relationships.
  • Sales & Community Engagement: Work towards meeting annual sales and service goals. Act as a Navigant Credit Union ambassador in the community and at business-related functions. Manage a book of business, set appointments, and follow up on referrals.

What We're Looking For

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online tools. Experience with banking software is a plus.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to explain financial products in a clear, accessible way. Must be service-oriented and willing to educate members on products and services that will benefit their financial well-being.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-Oriented: Collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to a positive, member-focused team. Must be able to travel within the credit union's footprint based on business needs.

Preferred Skills

  • Sales Skills: Ability to recommend products and services based on member needs.
  • Banking Experience: 2 years in member service and/or teller area of a credit union or other financial institution.
  • Loan Processing: Understanding of loan origination, underwriting, and documentation.
