Description
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Under direction of the Executive Director and in conjunction with the Germantown Performing Arts Board, plan, develop and coordinate all fundraising activities including planned and annual giving, major gifts, matching gifts, memberships, endowments, bequests, sponsorships and capital campaigns. Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Board, and volunteer leadership to achieve the fundraising goals of the Germantown Performing Arts Centre (GPAC).

Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising program to meet the needs and goals of GPAC; identify annual revenue goals and analyze progress toward reaching these goals.
2. Develop and coordinate a plan for donor recognition, retention, renewal, and upgrade. Establish and maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that new major donors are developed, have opportunities to increase their level of support annually, and enjoy a close relationship with GPAC.
3. Develop and implement strategies for cultivating and soliciting prospects for financial support in person or in conjunction with committee members and Executive Director.
4. Identify prospects and maintain a list of corporate, foundation, and individual donors; solicit/develop ongoing relationships for monetary, volunteer, or in-kind support.
5. Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate success of special event fundraising programs including assessing the value of the event on meeting financial goals.
6. Research, create, implement, and sustain an active ongoing grant solicitation program.
7. Manage the maintenance of the constituent database including input, donation processing, gift acknowledgments, data extraction and reports and remain proficient on the software.
8. Maximize the Guild relationship and service to support donor/prospect cultivation.
9. Serve as liaison with GPAC Board and attend meetings and report on fundraising activities.
10. Work with Marketing to prepare, develop, and manage promotional and publicity materials and activities as necessary to support all fundraising efforts.
11. Represent GPAC to the public and targeted audiences advocating GPAC's mission and programs.
12. Must be punctual and timely in meeting all job performance requirements, including but not limited to, attendance and tardiness standards and work deadlines.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. May assist with other department activities not under direct responsibility.
2. Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of fundraising and marketing techniques preferably in a performing arts or cultural institution.
• Knowledge of public relations principles and techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for the purpose of influencing, motivating, and convincing.
• Ability to create excitement and energy around GPAC's programs and encourage others to support the mission.
• Ability to network and develop key relationships within the community in order to gain the support of various constituencies, including board and staff members, donors, and foundation and civic leaders.
• Ability to develop and implement long-term fundraising strategy and set and meet annual fundraising targets.
• Ability to identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and perform under pressure, with minimal direction.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of professional fundraising experience in a leadership capacity, preferably in a performing arts organization; or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential job functions. Proven track record of success in key fundraising areas including corporate, foundation and individual giving, major gifts, special events, and capital campaigns.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The majority of work takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Work hours can be irregular, requiring nights and weekends.
