Fullstack Software Engineer

Meds.com is a rapidly growing consumer technology firm operating a suite of healthcare businesses, including our flagship brand BlueChew. With a team of 300 professionals across various specialties, we've built scalable pharmacy, telemedicine, and e-commerce platforms using cutting-edge technology. As we continue our accelerated growth trajectory, we're launching new products to expand our patient base and accelerate growth. At BlueChew, "Fullstack" means more than just connecting a database to a UI. You will be building the digital bridge between a patient's medical consultation and the physical delivery of their prescription. This role is for an engineer who thrives on the "hard problems" of healthcare—maintaining strict HIPAA-compliant security and high-availability systems while delivering the sleek, intuitive user experience of a modern D2C brand.

What You'll Do
  • Architect and build key features for major business areas such as pharmacy operations, ecommerce, and telemedicine.
  • Produce high quality code for peer review
  • Provide technical guidance for junior engineers
  • Code review for peers
Technology Utilization
  • Main programming languages: TypeScript, Python, Ruby
  • Databases: SQL and no-SQL, BigQuery, MongoDB
  • Frameworks, key libraries, and runtime: Angular, Node JS, AWS Chime, FreeSwitch

  • Expertise in one or more modern programming languages. Examples are TypeScript, Javascript, Python, Go, C++, Java, etc

  • Has written lots of non-trivial code
  • Has had to design creative engineering solutions frequently
  • A problem solver with a sound computer science background.
  • Enjoys coming up with a new code architecture, studying a new open-source library, building a new internal library, and designing the detailed steps to implement a big feature
  • Ability to learn quickly how a standard computer science algorithm works, such as graph algorithms, sorting algorithms, etc.
  • Should possess real expertise in at least one programming language.
  • BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, Economics, or other highly quantitative disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of core computer science principles, including algorithms and data structures
  • Proficiency in at least one or more modern programming language such as TypeScript, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++, or Java

  • 1 hour live technical interview with a team member focused on algorithms
  • Additional technical interview with a team member focused on algorithms (1 hour)
  • Final round: on-site visit to our Austin office or video interview with CEO, CTO, and other senior members of the team.
