Office Hours:
- Monday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Team members are expected to arrive by 7:30 AM for morning setup and preparation.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor chairside using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient procedures
- Take digital radiographs and intraoral images
- Scan patients using iTero and Medit technology
- Fabricate temporary crowns and provisional restorations
- Assist with restorative, crown and bridge, implant, oral surgery, and other general dental procedures
- Sterilize and maintain instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Review treatment plans and obtain patient consents
- Educate patients on treatment recommendations and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records within Open Dental
- Ensure exceptional patient experiences through outstanding customer service
- Support front office and clinical team members as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
- Virginia Dental Radiation Certification required
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with digital radiography
- Experience with Open Dental preferred
- Experience with digital scanners (iTero or Medit) preferred
- Comfortable assisting with a wide range of general dental procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with implant procedures
- Experience with same-day digital workflows
- Knowledge of treatment planning and patient education
- Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
