Receptionist - Medication Management Clinic

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Receptionist - Medication Management Clinic.

The Receptionist - Medication Management Clinic cordially greets and receives hospital guests, ascertains their needs and appropriately directs visitors. Operates the hospital switchboard in a professional manner and correctly routes calls. Performs admission registration process and a variety of clerical duties. Complies with attendance and punctuality policy. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Schedule can vary: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm Approx- 40 hours/week.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes and greets patients as they arrive for their scheduled appointment.
  • Reviews and verifies demographic information and insurance coverage, updating computer system as needed.
  • Distributes and reviews patient forms and screening tools.
  • Collects co-pays and provides patient with a receipt.
  • Schedules patient appointments.
  • Monitors waiting room and communicates appropriately with patients about treatment delays.
  • Answers the phone in a polite and professional manner, takes complete and accurate messages and/or routes the call to the appropriate member of the clinic team.
  • Makes appointment reminder calls.
  • Follows up on missed appointments.
  • Protects the confidentiality of clinic information and adheres to privacy and patient rights procedures.
  • Completes filing as needed and required to ensure patient records are accurate and complete.
  • Other duties as assigned.
