Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient-focused, and highly organized Front Desk Associate to join our growing optometric practice. This dual-role position is ideal for an individual who enjoys both administrative and clinical responsibilities and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

As a key member of our team, you will serve as both the welcoming face of the practice and gain training as an essential clinical support professional. You will have the opportunity to assist patients throughout their entire visit-from scheduling appointments and checking patients in to training to perform diagnostic pre-testing and supporting the doctor during examinations. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming, professional environment.
  • Check patients in and out efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, emails, faxes, and patient inquiries professionally.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Collect patient information and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Process payments and assist with financial transactions as needed.
  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient scheduling and minimal wait times.
  • Support daily office operations and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain clinical equipment and work areas.
  • Assist with contact lens training and patient instruction when appropriate.
  • Maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
