Job description

Medical Assistants provide excellent customer service while enhancing patient visits by working in collaboration with care team members to support the maintenance and delivery of high-quality healthcare services. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep EVCHC's clinical operations running smoothly.
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for patient's vitals including blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, pulse, and history of present illness
  • Documents chief complaints as stated by the patient
  • Provides immunizations, draws blood, and performs hematocrit and other basic tests when requested by clinicians
  • Calls in medication to pharmacy and administers medication as ordered by medical providers
  • Receives related telephone calls and triages appropriately, including managing patient messages per protocol or medical provider instructions
  • Review all forms to ensure that charts are completed after each patient visit.
  • Responsible for providing final instruction and patient education as directed by medical providers.
  • Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate and CPR card
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
