They work under the supervision of certified medical technologists and laboratory managers, assisting in performing diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids. Their internships are designed to provide hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, quality control procedures, and safety protocols. Interns also learn to analyze test results, maintain laboratory records, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. This hands-on exposure is invaluable for building proficiency in laboratory techniques, understanding workflow, and learning how to address common challenges like troubleshooting equipment or managing sample integrity.
